Ron A. Ross

Ron A. Ross, age 55, of Wilton, WI, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at his home. He was born on Nov. 11, 1952, to Edward and Shirley (Wambaja) Ross Sr. in Elgin, IL. Ron was a 1970 graduate of St. Charles High School in St. Charles, IL, and later attended Illinois State University.

On June 7, 1975, he was joined by his other half and biggest supporter, Susan Muhr. To this union Caitlyn, Kristen, Erin and Timothy were born. In 1979, Ron went to work for the Toro Company in Tomah. Ron and Sue later made their home in Wilton, where they still currently live. Ron attended Viterbo University and received his degree in 2003. He was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church in Ontario and served on the board. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, collecting model trains and visiting train museums. He liked many types of music and he loved to play it loud. He took pleasure in decorating with lights for Christmas, especially the large tree in his front yard.

Ron had a great sense of humor and attitude toward life. He was an inspiration to so many people, especially his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, known to his grandchildren as Pa Pa. Even as he faced the most difficult portion of his life, his faith, love and strength shined through. He lived life to the fullest and will never be far from our hearts. Although our hearts may feel a void now, we can rejoice in knowing that we will meet again, this time for eternity.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Ross of Wilton; his children, Caitlyn (David) Stanek of Wilton, Kristen (Cody) Simons of Elroy, Erin Ross (special friend, Michael Kennedy) of Wilton, and Timothy Ross (special friend, Toni Luxton) of Wilton; three grandchildren, Natalie Stanek, Brodie Stanek and Cailey Simons; his mother, Shirley Ross of Wilton; three brothers all of whom reside in Wilton, Edward Ross Jr., Larry (Vicki) Ross, Robert (Lana) Ross, as well as other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church in Ontario, WI. Pastor Bob Streeter will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery, Wilton. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, Nov. 23, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Wesleyan Church in Ontario. Family and friends are also invited for visitation on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
