i lived in the tomah/sparta/norwalk area from 1975 until 1999. i had a good friend named dave turnmire. he was the only dave turnmire i've ever heard of there. i've kown him since 1975.
this dave turnmire is one of the kindest, most generous and respectful persons i've had the pleasure to meet in my 50 yrs. he was always there to help in a pinch and there was never any thought on his part about going out of his way for others. there was also never any way he would take a cent for his efforts. this dave turnmire has a lot of compassion and heart.
he never drank or used drugs. he has been working at the same place since i met him in 1975...
i guess my point is, if you are going to use a specific person as as example of what someone can become, perhaps you should be more specific as to who you are talking about.
in not doing so, you maybe slandering a good person.
thanks for listening...

In PA his dad was shot when he was two days old. his mother was left to raise him all by herself. just because she may not have done such a good job she did make a good decision to have him move here to try to get out of the gutter. Although her plan did not work out dont blame her or his uncle. Leonard did this to himself, although i am his friend, i am still saying it was his fault. I personally know the family he was staying with and all he had to do was go to school, help out with the family and keep his nose clean and he didn't even care enough to do that for himself. 20-25 years. I hope he finds his way and becomes a better person from all of this. "

If he just happen to get caught up in it.....then why does he have a history of doing it along with a weapons charge from out east?? My understanding is that his mother couldn't handle him back east so she sent him here for his uncle to deal with. Hoping that getting him away from there would change him. Unfortunately he CHOSE not to change and sought out that life. Now he is facing many years in prison between his charges here and his charges back east. The real person here we should feel bad for is his uncle who cared and tried to do the right thing for him. There are many things for kids in our school and community to do besides drug running. Lenard CHOSE his life and he has to pay the piper. My heart goes out to his uncle who tried to help. He is the real victim here. I am sure he has a broken heart and heavy guilt to boot. "
