" Instead of going to a bar why not just bye the the beer, or what ever you want to drink at the store, and just drink at home, then you don't have to warry about leaving and driving home, or getting into fights at a bar, and get into trouble. Bars are not the greatest thing, because of getting into fights and getting hurt, and people getting into trouble. "

" it's obvious that your part of the problem and not being willing to accept the fact that there is a problem. First off go to a bar downtown and watch the police they are "SCARED" as others have stated it don't take a rocket scientist to observe the police and the fact they they are not doing there jobs with these morons that come into these little towns and take over. It would not be to difficult to make a presence in certain bars full of these people and make it know that dealing drugs across the tables will get you arrested and locked up, but why do that when it's easy pickings to arrest kids smoking or dipping in chew or writing parking tickets "

" From the article dated 7/11/2007 "Sparta Police secured the area surrounding the BOMB and evacuated about 10 homes for 5-6 hours. Upon arrival, the Dane County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad X-rayed the container, which revealed a battery, wires and an unknown liquid. They detonated the device instead of attempting to relocate it because it could not be defused." Hmmm? No evidence? What? The charges were dismissed on prosecutors motion according public records. If someone represents that they have a bomb (Explosive Materials) they should be charged as such even if its not explosive. An example: If someone sells a white powder and represents it as a narcotic substance, even if its just powdered sugar, they are still charged with intent to deliver a controlled substance. There was enough physical evidence. "

" The charges were not dismissed by the prosecutor. They were dismissed at the preliminary hearing because of lack of evidence, and the witnesses were changing their stories. Get your story right. Maybe attend some of these hearings instead of making comments that are not true "

" Monroe County Judiciary had a chance to prevent this simply by putting the guy away last time he threatened the life of another. This is the same guy that rigged a supposed bomb and threatened to kill others back in July of this last year, on Depot street in Sparta, He also, at that time, stabbed a 17 year old Sparta resident. Our fine prosecuters decided to dismiss criminal felony charges against this guy (1st-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety 941.30(1) and Possess Explosives for Unlawful Purpose 941.31(1)) and let him back out on the streets. This guy should have not even been let out on the streets in my opinion. If you really want to protect our society from such scum, I suggest that each and every one of you review cases here in Monroe County and vote out the Judges that are dismissing severe charges against these scumbags. Not only is the criminal a detriment to our society, the prosecutors that dismiss charges against such scum should be ousted as soon as possible and others that will protect and serve us, need to be put into thier positions. read for yourself, same guy, different offence. http://www.tomahjournal.com/articles/2007/07/11/news/00lead.txt. " This same idiot keeps posting, in CAPITAL LETTERS, how the police are "allowing" scum from other cities to move to Tomah. Is there some sort of a fence they can buy to keep out bad people? What are they supposed to do, put up road blocks and turn back any vehicle that's from a big city? Quit being stupid. While we're on the subject of being stupid, can you please elaborate on the police force being "scared" of these people? Have any documented situations or are you just running your mouth as usual? "
RE:Taverns are not bad wrote on Jan 5, 2008 4:17 PM:
" are you kidding with this statement "Sparta and Tomah do not even compare to the national average for crime" obviously you know nothing of per capita. Tomah is very high per capita as far as crime and especially murder related crimes even though not all murders are in Tomah the people are from Tomah. BUT you are correct on the SLIME BEING ALLOWED TO MOVE INTO THESE TOWNS AND THE POLICE ARE SCARED OF THEM AND DO NOTHING TO STOP THE INFLUX OF GANG MEMBERS. By the way this wasn't another DIMENSIONS problem was it? "

" "Our taverns are a way of life here for a lot of people" just about says it all. Here's a clue: LOSERS hang out in bars every weekend. The sad truth is that a lot of people live for Friday and Saturday night so they can act like morons on the 1100 block of Superior Avenue. It's like half the community is stuck in some sort of a time warp. Then one day they wake up, are 30 years old and can't seem to figure out why they still live in their mother's basement. "

" There are bad, rotton people all over the world. Sparta and Tomah do not even compare to the national average for crime. Patronizing a bar and being social doesn't have anything to do with these two low life drug dealers. Our taverns are a way of life here for a lot of people. It's just too bad that scum from other countries infiltrate our small communities. "

" So quit going to the bars. Why anybody would patronize these dumps is way beyond me. Stay at home, spend time with the family and find other things to do with your life. It's really that simple. "
