Clifford J. Armstrong

Clifford J. Armstrong 82, formerly of Tomah, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at his home in Mesa, AZ. Clifford was born Feb. 23, 1925, to Hiram and Gladys (Noyes) Armstrong in Waterloo, NE. He was united in marriage to Alice M. Welsh on Feb. 14, 1953, in Waukon, IA. She preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 1995. Prior to his retirement, he worked in Medical Admissions at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tomah. Clifford served in the U.S. Army in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Purple Heart during his military service.

He is survived by a daughter, Karen (Leo) Klosterman of Dodgeville; two sons, Michael (Denise) of New Lisbon and David (Dorothy) of Waunakee; four grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer and Elizabeth Armstrong and Cole Klosterman; two brothers, Norman (Brenda) Armstrong of Waterloo, NE, and Robert Armstrong of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters, Barb Trofholz and Anna Mae McKenna, both of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, John Armstrong.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 11:30 a.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. The Very Rev. Father Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Tomah with military honors by Curtiss-McNutt VFW Post #1382. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.

Margaret A. Griffin

Margaret A. Griffin, age 64, of Tomah, WI, passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 15, 1943, to Thomas and Adele (Sell) Edmison in Sparta, Wisconsin.

She was united in marriage to David Griffin on August 14, 1963. Together they moved from Cataract to Tomah in 1975. Margaret enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and flowers.

She is survived by her husband, David of Tomah; her son, Michael Griffin of Tomah, WI; her daughter, Margaret Griffin of Tomah, WI; a brother, Robert (Sharon) Edmison of Cataract, WI; a sister, Marlene (Bob) Morrison of Money Creek, MN; and a sister-in-law, Bernice Edmison; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, William Edmison.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2007, 11 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor William Rice will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Monday, Jan. 14, 2007, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Online condolences are available at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.

Andy W. Huber

Andy W. Huber, age 54, of Tomah, WI, died Tuesday Jan. 8, 2008, at home in Tomah. He was born on June 15, 1953, to Edward and Rae Huber in Tomah. He was a 1971 graduate of Tomah High School. Andy was known for being a very kind hearted person. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and his pet rabbit.

He is survived by his mother, Rae Huber of Tomah; his son, Ian of Trempealeau; his brothers and sister, David Huber of Green River, WY, Michael (Janet) Huber of La Valle and Rebecca (Kris) Lodahl of Hudson; his special friend, Diane Groleau of La Crosse; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward, and his brother, Joseph Huber.

The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family with private arrangements.
