4-K meeting: Daycare issues discussed

Local child care providers met with members of the Tomah School District 4-year-old Kindergarten Ad Hoc Committee and members of Family Resources of La Crosse on Monday to discuss possible impacts and partnerships that could result if 4-year-old kindergarten is implemented in Tomah.

Child care providers met at Tomah High School with the Tomah School District 4-year-old kindergarten ad hoc committee co-chairs Mary Ellen Justinger and Rick Murray, as well as Superintendent Bob Fasbender. Gaye Tylka, from CESA 4, and a Regional Collaboration Coach, Kathy Boisvert, were also in attendance to address questions about a community approach to a 4-year-old kindergarten program.

“It affects all of us,” Karen Sheets, of Kids Country Learning Center, said. “I am here to see what kind of changes have been made.”
