Published - Thursday, May 15, 2008 Obituaries for May 15 Grace Blomberg, Madeline J. Classey Grace Blomberg Grace Blomberg, age 85, of Shennington, WI, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Tomah Healthcare Center in Tomah. She was born Grace DeVoogd on Sept. 5, 1921, in Iowa. Grace was united in marriage to Herman Wenzel and later to Edward Blomberg; they both preceded her in death. She ran Gracie’s Store in Shennington over 50 years. She also enjoyed hog farming. If you stopped in Gracie’s Store you would notice her love for raising flowers and plants. The residents and customers of her store were her family; she touched many people’s lives and will be missed by many. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church, Camp Douglas. Pastor Tom Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. John’s Cemetery, Shennington. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Online condolences are available at www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com. Madeline J. Classey Madeline J. Classey, 94, of Tomah, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at the Serenity House in Tomah. She was born May 14, 1914, to Peter and Theresa (Neubauer) Mueller in Barton, WI, which is now a part of West Bend, WI. She was united into marriage on Nov. 7, 1933, to Robert Classey. She worked for the North West Telephone Company until her retirement in 1976. Madeline enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and embroidering. She was an excellent cook and was known for her stollens. She was a lifetime faithful member of the Catholic faith. Madeline was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her son Dennis (Val) of Warrens; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Classey; four grandchildren, Mark (Sherrie), Debra (John) Schneider and Cheryl Classey, all of Georgia, and Mike (Hannah) of Jacksonville, FL; a granddaughter-in-law, Renee Classey of Georgia; 10 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was further preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, Victor, and an infant son, Paul; a grandson, Tim; two sisters, Angeline and Marie, and a brother, Christian. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 303 W. Monroe St., Tomah. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call at The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A PCCW rosary will be recited on Friday at 4 p.m.
