Authorities searching a suspected drug house in Tomah ended up with two arrests when another man showed up with a marijuana delivery, police said Thursday.

Tomah police were in the midst of a warranted search Tuesday afternoon at 109 W. Jackson St. when Nicholas Yates, 28, “arrived at the residence to deliver marijuana,” according to reports.

Yates, of La Crescent, MN, was arrested on charges of delivery of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.

Michael Horihan, 36, who lived at the house, was charged with four counts of delivery of marijuana, delivery of hydrocodone, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug trafficking dwelling.

Officers seized nearly 1 pound of marijuana at the home, along with prescription drugs that included Vicodin, according to police reports.

The two men were released from the Monroe County Jail after posting cash bonds Thursday, police said.

The case has been forwarded to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office. The investigation continues and other arrests could be made, police said.

" I, too, think the marijuana should be legalized, but you are wrong about people using less alcohol because of legal dope. One does not replace the other. And, no, legal dope won't decrease bar fights. I don't go to the bars--puke on the floors, piss on the toilet seats, smoke burning my eyes, stupidity everywhere I look--but even I know that bar fights aren't caused by stoners; they're caused by drunks. "

" If they legalized it like the Canadian's it would put the bar's out of business.....people would use less alcohol, less arrests and more time for the real crimes but this generates them PR and also income!! What about the other drugs that are addictive and out of your system before cannibis such as heroine, crack, meth etc. If individuals could "grow their own" their would be LESS problems with gangs etc. And most definately bar fights would drop significantly!! People need to relax, it isn't going to stop soon, it's been around for years. This just fills the jails with people and generates revenue, does nothing to help the problem. Go after the big stuff. " 1) Gotta agree with Spock - Call 1st. 2) It's weed ya'll! It doesn't have to be processed to be used. It grows, you smoke it. Let all that prosecution crap go. Just let it go. Everybody reading this knows for a fact that there are times in life where you just need a joint to get by: kids not acting right, employer not being professional, evening news giving you nothing but bad news... Regulate it like alcohol & make some tax money off of it. "

" Plead not guilty and read Hank Rearden's speech to the court from Atlas Shrugged as your defense. Y'all are wonderful people for keeping marijuana and true capitalism alive when doing so meant risking the loss of your freedom or life.
