" I think we also need to take into consideration that if the building is condemned, will the Tralmers lose all of the equity in the building? If so I do not blame them for wanting to repair it and have the insurance pay for it. If they have owned the building for so many years, they deserve the equity in the building. This is why we pay for insurance. Remember a building is an investment. "

" How long did it take for the Cooper brothers to do anything with their condemned and contaminated property by the railroad tracks? Much longer than this situation (by years and years). No one is being hurt by a couple of month's investigation into repair and costs. Bloggers just like to gripe -- especially if they can throw in a "good ol' boy" here and there. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes -- it's not like they're going to make a fortune on this deal no matter what. Anyone who owns a business, deals with a catastrophe, and/ or has to deal with regulations is smart enough to know this is a no-win situation. And everyone who owns a business, deals with the public, and/ or has to deal with regulations deserves a fair shake. "

" How come the Tralmers can get away with taking their good natured time with that building? If it was anybody else in this town they wouldn't have been given this long to take care of it. As I see it, it's who you know in this city and than let's just sit on it for 6 months before we do anything. The city needs to force them to tear the building down, it's condemned and uninhabitable, anybody else wouldn't of had this long to decide what they were going to do with it if they owned it. The city of Tomah doesn't the gall to make them do that, because the mayor and the Tralmers are drinking buddies and they are working for each other. Get rid of the eye sore once and for all, before somebody get seriously hurt. "

" It doesn't matter who owns the building, and the issue between the Owner and insurance is not a public matter, but the bottom line is there is a very unsafe building in downtown Tomah that has also turned into a downtown eyesore if not a public nuisance.
Glad to see something finally being done and it appears the City was way to patient on this property. "

" Nothing against the Tralmer's but this is ridiculous. This building was condemned and they want the insurance to pay?? How about they fix it or tear it down and replace it. Why wait for the "insurance" company??? That's a poor excuse. They have made a mint out off this town and they want special favors to make more?? Tear the building down or repair it, but dont wait on the insurance. I'm sure they are known well enough to be able to finance a project like that. Insurance companies are for profit now, if you have an accident, you, the victim, may get your medical bills paid but NEVER do you come out ahead like the "good ole day's". Between attorney's and the hospital bills that come out of your settlement and IF their is any left you may get a dime or still be $$$$ in the hole. The insurance companies side together, they don't represent individual's any more. So, why would they pay money on a building that is worthless??? "

" I worked for Ron Tralmer for several years and I have to say that he was not only one of the BEST bosses I've ever had, but he's by far one of the finest men I've ever had the pleasure to know. It's a shame that the Tralmer issue has to make the newspapers when there are so many other things in this town to deal with. Leave this man alone, let him retire in peace as he deserves, and get on with your own issues!! "

" so in other words, they did what they had to so the city would get off their backs. Now they are trying to get more money out of the insurance company to fix it as cheaply as they can to make money on the building. No matter what you do to the building Tralmers will never get the price they think they should for it. But I guess they can keep hoping and trying to pinch all the money they can out of other people instead of their pockets. "

Good Luck to the Tralmers.... "
