Attendance was slightly down for the 33rd Annual Budweiser Dairyland Super National Truck and Tractor Pull last weekend, but not enough to discourage members of the Monroe County Agricultural Society.

The Monroe County Agricultural Society reported a total weekend attendance of 63,104 spectators over three days and six shows, which is an eight percent drop from 2007. Zebro said that flooding, along with other factors, most contributed to the slight attendance drop.

“Dealing with what we had to deal with, it is not a big deal,” Tomah Tractor Pull Marketing Director Julie Zebro said. “There were natural disasters in two states that are prime for spectators. The weather wasn’t on our side, and gas prices had to affect it somewhat.”

Zebro said that the slight drop in attendance was expected, and is no cause for concern.

“We aren’t really worried about it,” Zebro said. “You always like to see (attendance) get better, but we knew going in that with flood damage, it would probably be down.”

" Tomah is a sad little town full of sad little people. The tractor party cheers them up a little. "

" "massive amounts of alcohol" "ran out of beverages and soda" I don't know who you are getting your information from but maybe you should come out from behind your computer and and come and see what really goes on at these events. Yes there is beer sold and yes there are a few who get unruly, but on the whole you will not find a better group of people. I worked and have worked at the pull for over 20 years and find it very offensive when people who do not participate in an event sit on the sidelines and p**s and moan about how the event is run.

As far as the amount of arrests, that is public record. Why don't you use some of your spare time and make a call and report back to us.

I think that the Tomah area is very lucky to have the largest pull in the nation call this home. My hat goes off to all the people that make sure we are always in the running for best pull in the nation, an award that Tomah has may times be awarded. "

" so now they aren't going to put the number of tickets and arrests due to the massive amounts of alcohol sold at the pull in the article. So just point out attendance was down, but from the many people I talked to, they ran out of "beverages" and soda. So they did the part of making money for orginazations. But put the whole story up, not just the poor attendance record. "
