CASHTON - Firefighters from three Monroe County departments are still on scene of a fire at the Cashton Farm Supply on the west edge of the village.
The Cashton Fire Department was dispatched to the business at 199 Front St. about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday, said Cashton Fire Chief Dennis Dickman. Flames were shooting from the top of a grain elevator.
Firefighters work to control a fire late Thursday night at Cashton (Wis.) Farm Supply. The fire started in a grain elevator and resulted in a total loss.
The fire was extinguished but flared up again overnight. Dickman said crews are finishing at the scene about 9 a.m.
The fire spread to the office area, but a feed bag storage room was spared, he said. Dickman declared the business a total loss and said the department is working to establish what caused the blaze.
No one was injured. Westby and Viroqua Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
