Monroe County has named six finalists for the county administrator position which will be implemented in January.

The finalists are Frank Pascarella of Amery, Wis.; Craig Joesten of Freeport, Ill.; William Neureuther of Hubertus, Wis.; Thomas Eeg of Racine, Wis.; Debra Suchla of La Crosse; and Ernest Winters of Fond du Lac, Wis.

They will be interviewed Jan. 6 by a panel that includes the county’s Administrative/Executive Committee, as well as the chairpersons of the county board and the Personnel Committee. County board members also may attend.

Two other candidates — Laura Nali of Round Lake Beach, Ill.; and Charles Johnson of Onalaska, Wis. — were named as alternates if any of the finalists withdraw before the interview.

The finalists were chosen from among 16 applicants for the position, which the county board approved Sept. 24.

" No need to delay hiring the new administrator. The tax problems can be solved by putting up more parking meters, adding a parking lot space tax for all business who have paking lots, and get the city to collect taxes from all the utility companies who don't pay and are written off. Of course a auto tax is posible too, have all the cars registered in Tomah have a city stamp requirment. "

" I think that John Rusch thought that he had this job all locked up. I see that he didn't even make the finalist list that is good as far as I am concerned. I agree delay the hiring for the administrator as well. "

" Why not delay hiring an administrator too?
Especially with the potential tax issue at the Three Bear Lodge. "
