A Sparta woman has been charged with disorderly conduct and resisting an officer after she was accused of causing a disturbance at her place of work in Tomah.

Heather L. Hofstrand, 38, was charged in Monroe County Circuit Court for an incident that occurred on June 8. According to the police report, Hofstrand demanded to be admitted to a manager’s meeting at Cardinal TG, where she worked. She was told she had no business at the meeting and was asked leave. Prior to leaving, she allegedly told a manager that she would “take care of him later.”

After leaving Cardinal TG, the report said she made several phone calls to the business. In a call to a receptionist just before 9 a.m., she said that she wanted it known that she single handedly “took down all negativity and opened every door.” She called again just before 1 p.m., and again a half hour later, stating that “it is being called operation insult to injury. We will incorporate military action if we have to. Whenever God tells me, I will settle.”

Fearing for the safety of employees, a manager phoned police. Hofstrand was arrested at her home. The report said she refused to cooperate with police.

Hofstrand is free on a $500 signature bond and was ordered not to have contact with Cardinal TG.
