A 79-year-old town of Byron man died Wednesday from head injuries sustained after he fell from a loft in his pole shed, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

Leonard Frei was working in the shed about 6 p.m. when he fell from the loft and hit his head. He was taken to Tomah Memorial Hospital, where he died, according to the sheriff’s department.
